These are children who have difficulty meeting their education needs due to various social difficulties they may have faced. They reside with care-gives in their communities. Our observation is that many of these children are brilliant but will waste away in the villages. They can do better if given equal opportunities. Our desire is to retain their family and community links, ensure education/nutrition stability of the orphans and vulnerable children irrespective of their religion, tribe and color. In 2004 RI provided support to 205 children in primary schools and children of PLWHAs in Meru Central district, through grants from international organizations, institutions and individuals. Promotion of free primary education by the Government of Kenya has been a great boost towards improving the welfare children across Kenya however some children are unable to meet the cost of education beyond primary school. They end up dropping out of school prematurely. When this occurs, the children fail to tap into their full potentials and many do not fulfill destiny. In a bid to survive, they live on the streets, face abuse and some end up in crime rings. When you sponsor a child, YOU can help give many of these children a future
and a hope. We need to help them rebuild their self image and promote their
welfare in order to raise a better generation in nation building. Your
encouragement and support can help make that difference in their life. In this program we aim at the following objectives:

Ripples International supports and encourages education of “Children
in Special Need” covering nursery, primary and secondary or high
schools through a community based orphanage system. In this program, the
children remain in their communities from where they receive support to improve
their education, nutrition and family resources.
